Barca ease past United

La Liga giants Barcelona defeated Manchester United 3-0 (Agg: 4-0) at the Nou Camp this morning to progress to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Two goals from Lionel Messi (16′ & 20′) and a wonder strike by former Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho (61′) ensured their progression into the final four of the competition after three last-eight exits in as many seasons.

Despite making an energetic start, with Marcus Rashford being denied by the goal frame within seconds of kick-off, United failed to find their footing in the game and were thoroughly outclassed by a fluid Barcelona side.

Ernesto Valverde’s team will now face either Liverpool or Porto in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
