Arsenal mauled by Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers dealt a crushing blow to Arsenal’s top four hopes following a 3-1 victory in the Premier League this morning.
Unai Emery’s side only needed a draw to leapfrog Chelsea into fourth but goals from Ruben Neves (28′), Matt Doherty (37′) and Diogo Jota (45+2′) in the first-half set Wolves on their way to an impressive win.
Arsenal bagged a consolation goal with 10 minutes remaining through Sokratis Papastathopoulos who headed in Granit Xhaka’s corner at the far post.
The defeat leaves the Gunners in fifth place with only three games remaining in the league this season. Wolves on the other hand, moved up to seventh place, one point ahead of Watford.
