Aidil knows how to get past Vietnam
Malaysia defender Aidil Zafuan said he has found a weakness in Vietnam’s style of play ahead of their AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 Final second leg at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi tonight.
Aidil was unavailable in the previous tie but is now fit for the penultimate match in the tournament alongside fellow defensive stalwarts Syahmi Safari and Syazwan Andik.
And the 31-year-old believes that he has found a way to overcome The Golden Dragons on their home turf.
“They (Vietnam) have a tough time dealing with crosses and we can use that to our advantage.
“As we saw in Bukit Jalil, they were quite shaky when they had to deal with corner kicks and free kicks.
“This provides us with the best opportunity to score goals, similar to what Shahrul Saad did in the first leg.
“This was also the case when they faced Philippines. The Vietnamese players failed to deal with a corner kick which resulted in a goal.
“So we will try to use this to our advantage and hopefully come away with a victory,” he said.
Malaysia are set to face Vietnam at 8.30pm tonight.
