Agbonlahor retires from football
Former Aston Villa and England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor confirmed that he has retired from football.
Agbonlahor made the decision to call it quits after failing to secure a move to another club following his release from Aston Villa last summer.
The forward spent 18 years at Villa, playing nearly 400 times, and is the club’s top Premier League goalscorer.
Speaking to Free Radio at the Pride of Birmingham Awards, he said, “I haven’t made a big deal about it, by posting anything on social media about retiring, but no that’s me done.”
Agbonlahor scored 86 goals for Villa throughout his career and made his final appearance for the club against Sheffield United back in December 2017.
