Maradona is an Argentine retired professional footballer. He is often regarded as one of the best footballers to have graced the game. He might be one of the legends in football but he has been in trouble with the law on a number of occasions. In 1998, Maradona was given a suspended two-year jail sentence for shooting a journalist with an air pellet gun.
Wright used to play for Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Burnley. Currently a studio pundit for BBC Sport and ITV Sport, he had to spend two weeks in Chelmsford prison for failing to pay fines for driving without tax or insurance in the past.
Evans is a striker for Fleetwood Town and used to play for Manchester and Chester City. He spent two and a half years in prison after being convicted of raping a female in a hotel room sometime in 2012. His conviction was quashed in 2016 by the Court of Appeal, and a retrial was ordered. He was found not guilty.
4. Adam Johnson
Johnson is an English professional footballer who used to play for Sunderland and Manchester City. In 2015, he was arrested for having sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl (England’s age of consent being is 16). He was sentenced to six years in prison and was released in 2019 after serving half his sentence.
King was a former striker for Sheffield United. He served three jail sentences for multiple convictions including theft from a person and from a car, criminal damage, fraudulent use of vehicle licence document, driving without insurance, speeding, drink driving and two cases involving assault of young women rejecting his advances in the Soho area of London, among others.
