Check out this list of footballers who are not only blessed with a talent for football but also, other sports.

1.Wayne Rooney: Boxing

Rooney used to box when he started playing football. According to his uncle, Richie Rooney, “Wayne was very good at boxing!”. But when he was about 15, he played for the Everton youth squad and they stopped him from boxing.

2.Theo Walcott: Sprinter

Currently playing as a forward for Premier League club Everton, Walcott could have been a sprinter. Arsene Wenger claimed that Walcott has the potential to be a match for Olympic 100-meter champion Usain Bolt. Currently, he is able to run 100 metres in 10.3 seconds while Bolt’s world-record time is 9.58 seconds. #impressive.

3.Roy Keane: Boxing

Another boxing champion here. In an interview in 2002, Keane claimed that “Boxing is the best sport in the world. It’s man against man. You are on your own. There’s only one person going to come out of that ring a winner”. He quit training for boxing because of his height.

4.Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Taekwondo

When he was 17-years-old, Zlatan received a black belt in Taekwondo. He continued his training in Italy and received another honorary black belt from the Italian national Taekwondo team in 2010. The president of Unity Sports in Malmo (Ibrahimovic practised taekwondo at the institution) claimed that “Ibrahimovic had the same focus on taekwondo which he has had in football and been able to invest in the same way, it is clear that he could have been as good as anywhere.”

5.Gary Lineker: Cricket

Not only he was a great footballer, but he was also a talented batsman in cricket. Appointed as the captain of Leicestershire Schools cricket team from 11 to 16, Lineker thought that he was going to be a professional cricketer.
