Goalkeeper, also known as a keeper or goalie, is one of the most important positions in a football match. Their primary role is to prevent the opposing team from scoring a goal, simple right? But it’s not that easy. Check out the following goalkeepers and their heroic moments.

1.Jan Oblak

Oblak received La Liga Zamora Trophy for 2018-2019, an award for the goalkeeper who has the lowest “goals-to-games” ratio. A goalkeeper should play at least 28 games in order to be qualified for the trophy. The Slovenian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Spanish club Atlético Madrid is only 26-years-old and we’re sure this is just the beginning of a phenomenal career.

2.David de Gea

This Spanish footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester United and the Spain national team is known for his incredible reflexes (which is a crucial skill for a goalkeeper), agility and his acrobatic dives and impressive saves.

3. Alisson Becker

Originally from Germany, Ter Stegen is a consistent goalkeeper with excellent reflexes and he is also strong in the air. He is known for his control and accurate distribution of the ball, enough to scare any opponent.
