Top 5 video games you should play right now

If we could go back in time and ask me if video games would be considered as a sport – I’d call you nuts. Fortunately for the youngsters, eSports is finally being recognized by the government and everyone is highly encouraged to play – all thanks to our Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq!

So in the spirit of encouraging everyone to start gaming, here’s our top 5 games you should really play right now:

Developer: Ubisoft

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC

The 11th major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series is set in 431 BCE where the plot is between a fictional history of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. Best part of Odyssey is that fans get to choose the characters you want to play as, narrative options, potential suitors and more! Not to mention the historic ambiance of Ancient Greece. Downside of it is that it’s no longer as stealth-y and assassin-y as what the Assassin’s Creed should be, if you know what I mean…

Developers: Epic Games, People Can Fly

Platform: PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, iOS, Mac OS, Android and Windows

Fortnite was first released in 2017 by Epic Games and it is currently distributed as two different games modes; Fortnite: Save the World and Fortnite Battle Royale. STW is designed as ‘player vs environment’ game for up to four players to fight off zombie-like creatures while BR is a ‘player vs player’, free-to-play game where up to 100 players battle to be the last person standing. Besides that. Fortnite has been awarded with ‘Esports Breakthrough Fame of the Year” at the 2018 Esports Awards recently. I guess that’s enough of a reason for you to start playing this if you haven’t already, right?

Developer: Rockstar Games

Platform: PS4, Xbox One

From the creators of Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game as a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption released on 26 October 2018. RDR2 is an epic tale of life in America at the dawn of the modern age America in 1899 when the end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs.  It is quite a lengthy game but trust us when we say it is one of the greatest adventure games that will make you want to play it over and over again. (Fun fact: Arthur’s facial hair actually grows in real game time and he could keep a full beard, a mustache… the choice is up to you!)

Developers: Electronic Arts, EA Vancouver, EA Romania

Platform: PS3, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows

Of course, we will not forget about our utmost favourite football game – FIFA 19. Released on 28 September 2019, FIFA 19 is the 26th installment of the football simulation FIFA series that for the first first time features the UEFA club competitors, including the UEFA Champions League. Since there are new tweaks and changes to the new FIFA 19 such as precision ball control, it is definitely an improvement to last year’s game. Nothing super special but it’s still a fun game to play with friends nevertheless.

Developer: Insomniac Games

Platform: PS4

In remembrance of the late Stan Lee, it’s only fair for us to include this game. Don’t think this game would need much of an introduction because who doesn’t know Spider-Man right? Released worldwide on 7 September 2018, Spider-Man is a fun action-adventure game with great movement and graphics that is suitable to be played by all ages. Even girls find this game fun and easy.
